Ordering Guidelines
The deadline for animal orders is generally Thursday at NOON to arrive the following week.
Orders that involve pregnancy or other specifics such as many animals at a certain size need to have greater time allowances to ensure delivery.

When you order animals be prepared to specify:

Species/strain, quantity, the correct IACUC/AUS number for these animals to be used on, specific size, sex or other information.
The most imporant details are covered when you have an active protocol and are requesting the correct species and strain.

Census
Once animals arrive, it is your responsibility to correctly document on the cage card the actual number of animals in the cage. This is completed by using a hash mark to cross off the current number and correcting it with the actual number. Census is taken weekly and all animals are charged to investigator accounts monthly.
Mice and rat pups are counted on cage cards from 14 days of age. They are weaned at 21-28 days depending on size.
